Albümünün ismi neden “Komik Adam” ?

Komik adam ben değilim. Geçmişte çok mutlu olduğumuzu sandığım ve çok sevdiğim halde beni aldatan, terk eden güzel bir kadının yıllar sonra gidip evlendiği, benden çok daha vasat, çirkin ancak arkadaş çevresinde komik, esprili olarak tanınan bir adam… “Bu kadar güzel bir kadının böyle bir adamla evlenmesi nasıl mümkün olabilir?” diye yıllardır soran, bunu yaşayan her erkeğe destek vererek bunu yapan kadınlara isyan ediyoruz.

Anadolu Rock müziğinin bugününü nasıl görüyorsun, dijitalleşmeye adapte olabildi mi?

Teyp döneminde çocuklara kasetlerle aşılanmaya çalışıldı, CD döneminde ise tamamen bitti. Zaten 70’lerde popüler olmuş dönemsel bir müzik türünün günümüzde yeni nesillerle devam etmesi imkânsız. Kimse Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Moğollar, Erkin Koray, Üç Hürel, Ersen ve Dadaşlar ya da diğerleri gibi olamaz. Kimsenin kumaşı buna yetmez. Bizlere düşen onlara saygımızı göstermeye devam ederek sahnede şarkılarını seslendirmek ve albümlerimizde “ustaya saygı” şeklinde cover’larını (yeniden yorumlama) yaparak onları yaşatmak.

Why the name of your album is “The Funny Man”?

He is not me! He is the husband of my beautiful ex-girlfriend with whom I had thought that I was very happy. I had loved her but she had cheated on me and dumped me. She married him despite his being a mediocre one. However, he is funny. He is known in his entourage for his funny and witty character. The name is a way of support to every guy who have been asking and protesting for years “How such a beautiful woman marries that guy?”

How do you evaluate the present situation of Anatolian Rock? Has Anatolian Rock assorted with the digitalisation?

Anatolian Rock’s soul died with the production of last phonograph record. There was an effort to instil its soul in children during the era of cassette players. The CD era was its finale. Anatolian Rock was a seasonal genre which emerged in the 1970’s so its continuation with new generations is impossible. Also, no one can be like Barış Manço, Cem Karaca, Moğollar, Erkin Koray, Üç Hürel, Ersen ve Dadaşlar and others. No one has the capacity to compete with these heroic names. Our mission is to maintain our respect for them, singing their songs in our concerts and making “respect” chapters in our albums. This is the only way to keep them alive.
