100.000 saplings gifted to Izmir by miners

The authorities of the natural stone sector took action to cure the wounds of the great Izmir fire.

Turkey was literally burning in August. Especially the great fire that broke out in Izmir couldn’t be put under control and destroyed a vast area. The campaign that started after the fire goes on with the slogan, “Izmir will reborn from its ashes,” and the authorities of the natural stone sector supported it. For the reforestation of Izmir 100.000 saplings, which are worth 1 million TL, will be donated by sectoral authorities. Making a statement about the matter, Mevlüt Kaya, the President of the Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association (EİB) said, “We are unjustly criticized despite being the sector that contributes to the environment’s preserving the most. We strive to change the negative image of the mining sector in public. For this reason, 100.000 saplings will be donated in the Izmir Mining Workshop which will be held in November.
