The potential is $15 billion
Mevlüt Kaya, the chairman of EMİB, who is the host of the workshop, emphasized the unity in the sector. Kaya said, Our sectoral agreement, which started with 9 NGOs in the first workshop, reached 15 NGOs today. We now work hand in hand with our 15 NGOs for the sector. Since the mines are in the middle of our lives, we must both do the mining right and explain it well to the public. We are tenants of the mines owned by 82 million people. If we prioritize people and the environment and establish good relationships, we’ll be good tenants. The mining sector has the potential to reach an export figure of $15 billion. That’s what we’re aiming at.”
