Dinçer: We cannot compete anymore

Aydın Dinçer, president of Istanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association, underlined the fact that fourteen nongovernmental organizations collaborated to form a Strategical Mining Consultation Council. Dinçer said, “We’ll explain what kind of lives we’d have without the mining sector. Without the mining sector, none of the industrial sectors may exist. We are losing our competitive power due to high energy costs. Just like the maritime sector, we demand the removal of ÖTV (special consumption tax) in electricity and fuel.” Erol Efendioğlu, president of Marble Manufacturers’ and Industrialists’ Association (MADSIAD), said, “As exporter associations, we demand the permits to get over with this crisis.” After the speeches, the awards were handed over.
