Pandeminin gölgesinde geçen 2020 yılını yüzde 6.8 gibi ‘kabul edilebilir’ bir gelir kaybıyla kapatmıştı Türk Doğaltaş Sektörü. Özellikle 2020’nin son çeyreğinde yaşanan hareketlilik de 2021 için umut vericiydi. Ne mutlu ki, beklenen oldu ve 2021’in ilk 4 ayında yüzde 26’lık bir artış kayıtlara geçti. Ege Maden İhracatçıları Birliği (EMİB) Başkanı Mevlüt Kaya, 4 ayda 620 milyon dolar gibi bir rakama ulaştıkları ve bunun sektör adına gurur verici olduğunu söyledi.

Kaya, pandeminin yaralarını sardıklarını ifade ederken “Sektörümüz her krizden olduğu gibi pandemi krizinden de inadına üretim, inadına ihracat sloganıyla hareket ederek kurtuldu. Konteyner ve navlun fiyatlarındaki büyük artışlara rağmen gelinen nokta nedeniyle tüm ihracatçılarımızı kutluyorum. Konteyner krizi olmasaydı ihracatımız 700-750 milyon dolar aralığına çıkabilirdi. 2021 yılının ikinci yarısında aşılama oranlarının yükselmesi ve konteyner krizinin çözülmesiyle 2 milyar doları aşacağımıza inanıyoruz” diye konuştu.

Overshadowed by the pandemic, the Turkish natural stone sector had concluded 2020 with a relatively acceptable income loss of 6.8%. Starting particularly in the last quarter of the year, the momentum was quite promising for 2021. The good news is that the expectation was met and an increase of 26% was recorded in the first four months of 2021. Mevlüt Kaya, the president of the Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association, stated that the sector had reached $620 million in the first four months and it was a proud success for the sector.

Underlining that the sector was recovering, Kaya said, “Just like in all crises, our sector has managed to get rid of this crisis by constantly producing and exporting. For their success despite the increase in the container and freight expenses, I’d like to congratulate all our exporters. If it hadn’t been for the container crisis, our export could have increased up to $700

750 million. We believe that we’ll surpass $2 billion as more people are vaccinated and the container crisis is solved.”
