Kyrgyzstan urges Turkish businesspeople to invest

-

Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Ankara, stated that he believed that the $1 billion trade target with Turkey would be reached in 2-3 years and said, “I invite Turkish investors to invest in our country.”

Ambassador Omuraliev, reminding that Kyrgyzstan would celebrate its

30th anniversary of independence on 31 August, said that more than 100 agreements had been signed between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan for 30 years and that many high-level contacts had been held. Omuraliev said the last of these had taken place during a visit to Turkey by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in June.

Omuraliev, addressing the economic and trade relations between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, said, “Our trade and economic relations between the two states are good. The trade volume reached $507 million last year. This trade volume is increasing over time, and the leaders of the two states emphasised the aim of increasing this amount to $1 billion at the last meeting of the YDSK. I believe that this goal will be achieved in the next 2-3 years.”

Ambassador Omuraliev noted that Turkish and Kyrgyz business people were granted a visa-free regime between the two states for up to 90 days, and that those who wanted to establish a business in

Kyrgyzstan were given a special 1-2 year visa, and said, “Special investment visas are given to those who invest at least $130,000. In addition, a person, regardless of whether he is a Kyrgyzstan citizen or a foreigner, can officially register and start working in two days in our country.”

Omuraliev said, “I invite Turkish investors to invest in our country. There is the Eurasian Economic Union, which is a member of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Armenia along with Kyrgyzstan. The goods produced in Kyrgyzstan can be sold without customs duty to these 5 states with a population of 180 million.” (www.trtavaz. com.tr)
