The poorest ones of Europe: in Romania, Bulgaria and Greece

Avrupa Birliği’nde (AB) geçen yıl yaklaşık 100 milyon kişi yoksulluk riskiyle karşı karşıya kaldı. Avrupa İstatistik Ofisi (Eurostat), AB ülkelerinde 2020 yılında yoksulluk ya da sosyal dışlanma riski altında yaşayan vatandaşlara ilişkin verileri yayımladı.

Yoksulluk sınırında yaşayanların oranının en yüksek olduğu ülkeler yüzde 35,8 ile Romanya, yüzde 33,6 ile Bulgaristan, yüzde 27,5 Yunanistan ve yüzde 27 ile İspanya oldu. Yoksulluk veya sosyal dışlanma oranının en düşük olduğu ülkeler ise yüzde 11,5 ile Çekya, yüzde 13,8 ile Slovakya, yüzde 14,3 ile Slovenya ve yüzde 15,8 ile Hollanda olarak belirlendi.

Söz konusu yoksulluk oranı Almanya’da yüzde 22,5, Fransa’da yüzde 18,9 ve Belçika’da yüzde 20,4 seviyesinde ölçüldü. AB’de geçen yıl nüfusun 21,9’u yoksulluk ya da sosyal dışlanma riskiyle karşılaştı ve AB ülkelerinde toplam 96,5 milyon kişi yoksulluk sınırında yaşadı. (www.balkanhaber.org)

Nearly 100 million people in the European Union (EU) faced the risk of poverty last year. The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published data on citizens living at risk of poverty or social exclusion in EU countries in 2020.

The countries with the highest proportion of people living on the poverty line were Romania (35.8 percent), Bulgaria (33.6 percent), Greece (27.5 percent) and Spain (27%). The countries with the lowest poverty or social exclusion rates were Czechia with 11.5 percent, Slovakia with 13.8 percent, Slovenia with 14.3 percent and the Netherlands with 15.8 percent.

The poverty rate in question was measured at 22.5 percent in Germany, 18.9 percent in France and 20.4 percent in Belgium. Last year in the EU, 21.9 of the population faced the risk of poverty or social exclusion, and a total of 96.5 million people in EU countries lived below the poverty line. (www. balkanhaber.org)
