China-Europe Freight Train Line goes into operation
A new international freight train line connecting Shijiazhuang, the center of China’s northern Hebei province, and Serbia’s capital Belgrade went into operation on Thursday. The train will carry 110 TEUs of cargo worth approximately 20 million yuan, including auto parts and mechanical equipment.
This service by China aims to create a new route for economic and trade interaction between the BeijingTianjin-Hebei region and Serbia and other Belt and Road Initiative countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
A new international freight train line connecting Shijiazhuang, the center of China’s northern Hebei province, and Serbia’s capital Belgrade went into operation on Thursday.
According to Gao Xiang, Director of Hebei International Land Port Company, the cargo train will depart from Shijiazhuang International Land
Port, pass through Alashankou Port in northwestern China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and reach Serbia. The train will travel an average of 10,200 kilometers for approximately 20 days.
The first Sino-European cargo connecting the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in northern China with Serbia The train services will provide transportation support to the cooperation within the scope of the Belt and Road Initiative. The train carries 110 TEU (1 TEU refers to a 20-foot container) of cargo worth approximately 20 million yuan (about 2.82 million US dollars), including auto parts and mechanical equipment.
The new service is expected to create a new route for economic and trade interaction between the BeijingTianjin-Hebei region and Serbia and other Belt and Road Initiative countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
