Time to pull up your creative socks!

The Art of Recycling has returned in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Mall which is all set to be the gallery for your gorgeously sustainable creations. Now in its second edition, the eco-conscious extravaganza promises to be a visual feast of upcycled masterpieces.

From kindergarteners to university students, and even adults, the competition has a place for everyone, reinforcing the idea that creativity knows no age limit. With prizes totalling to over AED 50,000, our theme for this year is ‘No Time To Waste’, an apt thought process ahead of the critical COP28.

So what do we have in store for this edition? Starting with our distinguished panel of judges, we have Emirati artist Hessa Al Mansoori, environmental specialist Obaid Al Jeaidi, and

British artist Mark Dickens evaluating your entries this year.

The judges will scrutinise your entries, evaluating them against criteria that include effective use of recyclable materials, originality, creativity, visual impact, and craftsmanship. As a bonus, they also have the power to award bonus points to pieces that truly dazzle with their innovative brilliance.

Creative juices flowing already? You can submit your creations at a designated spot in Abu Dhabi Mall starting 1 November on Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm, and Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm.

The submission window closes on 9 December, with winners set to be announced when schools reopen in January. So start collecting and get creating, because there’s no time to waste!
