After studying English at Cambridge University, Amy Bradford started her career at a trend forecasting agency before working as Features Director at ELLE Decoration UK for over a decade. Since going freelance, Bradford has written for a range of brands and publications, including The Telegraph and the London Evening Standard. In this issue of AD Middle East, she writes about the fascinating life of iconic Italian designer Gabriella Crespi (p.30).

Favourite design object? One thing I’ve loved for as long as I can remember is Luciano Vistosi’s Onfale glass table lamp of 1978 – a supremely unadorned mushroom shape. Your favourite city? Venice. It has a dreamlike quality. I find the water and the absence of cars soothing, but it still has the cultural advantages of a city.
