AMY BRADFORD

A journalist and copywriter based in Folkestone, England, Amy specialises in writing about lifestyle, beauty and the home. In this issue, she escapes to a Sicilian palazzo restored by French Ńlmmaker Jean-Louis Remilleux (Grand Tour, p.90).

What draws you into a subject? I love any story with a heritage bent, so I was parđicularly pleased to be asked to write about Hermès and Pratesi - those kinds of stories are so romantic to me.

What’s your advice to budding design journalists?

Never assume any knowledge on the audience’s parđ, and never write to satisfy your ego.

How do you overcome a writer’s block?

I just grit my teeth, starđ writing and keep going until I have something that I can wrestle into shape. There’s no way out except through it.
