A moment to oneself is something of an elusive fantasy during Dubai Design

Week, but this year, award-winning studio Anarchitect built a monument for exactly that in the heart of d3. Developed

in collaboration with Cosentino and fashioned from Sunlit Days, the surfaces manufacturer’s first-ever carbon neutral collection, the origami-inspired, fiery-orange chamber invited visitors into a darkened

space to reveal the magic of slow-tech. As one’s eyes adjusted, through a minuscule aperture, mirage-like inverted images of the

external world slowly revealed themselves in real time. Exalting the spirit of Cosentino’s pioneering new material, this self-operating,

analogue installation was designed to be completed demounted, ready for its second act at a brand new location.
