Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collections are always very special, as they celebrate the exquisitely detailed work of the petites mains and artisans who create all the embroideries, feathers, pleats, laces, gloves, hats, jewellery, shoes… you name it and Chanel has a dedicated workshop of the highest level. The historical savoir faire, eagleeyed dedication to detail and constant push for perfection is awe inspiring. Usually held in Paris’ Grand Palais, the recent 2021 ⁄ 22 show marked a departure and took place at le19M, a new building in the 19th arrondissement which houses all the Métiers d’Art ateliers under one roof.
