HANNES PEER

-

Peer was practically born with the creative use of materials such as wood and glass. “My grandfather has always worked with wood, and he has a wooden bench here in the studio now,” explains the native of South Tyrol, who trained as a carpenter before studying architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and at the Technical University of Berlin. “As an artist, my mother worked with glass, among other things, and took me to the factories on Murano when I was a child,” he recalls. Whether it’s wood, glass or natural stone – he always needs to deal with the material himself: “I have to touch things. it is a must.” He opened his practice in 2009 and now oversees high-end interior architecture projects all over the world – from eclectic private apartments to luxury retail stores. The goal is always to find tailor-made solutions for every customer, down to the last detail. This includes designing unique, expressive furniture and lighting which combine historical influences with contemporary technologies. Hannespeer.com
