Inspired by the surge in digital communication during the pandemic, Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art launched the streaming platform Watch & Chill in 2021. Now, the Sharjah Art Foundation is launching its version of the concept by sharing a selection of moving-image artworks, viewable both on-site and online. Entitled Streaming Senses, the edit of 22 films ranges from Finnish-German filmmaker Jenna Sutela’s fascinating work, which documents experiments in Martian communication, to Palestinian artist Sharif Waked’s To Be Continued…, which subverts the phenomenon of suicide bomber videos by using a similar format to record readings from the literary classic, One Thousand and One Nights.
