SECRET GARDEN BRUNCH, THE RITZ-CARLTON DIFC

There’s a new party brunch in town

Party brunches can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the music is too loud, or the venues get so packed you can’t move. Not to mention the fact that the food often becomes an afterthought.

If there is anyone who knows how to pull off a party brunch properly, it’s the folks over at Secret Parties, who host various Secret events across Dubai. They were previously responsible for the upbeat brunch at Taj Dubai’s Treehouse, and this season they’ve set up shop at Flair No.5 at the swanky The RitzCarlton in DIFC.

The fabulous courtyard venue is airy and spacious, with lounges and high tables dotted across the venue. It’s very much a social affair, with guests gathering at the bar area and milling about the various popup drinks stations. Of course, there’s a DJ on the decks from the get-go, so it doesn’t take long for the crowd to get on their feet.

Food is served to the table, and as expected, it’s all about sharing. The starters consist of a colourful array of hummus, ceviche, breads, olives and quinoa, instantly making the table Insta-worthy.

Mains are just as pretty and diverse, when they arrive at the table. From meatballs and shrimp skewers, to pizza and veggies, there is something to keep everyone grazing.

And it’s not just the tasty food that keeps us happy. As the afternoon evolves, so does the atmosphere. Fortunately, even at full capacity, the venue does not feel overcrowded. There is space to move and dance, and the lounge seating is beyond comfortable.

What more can we ask for on a vibrant Friday afternoon? Not much, TBH.
