An accomplished design writer and editor, Niesewand has served as architecture correspondent for The Independent, design editor at British Vogue, and as contributing editor to House & Garden UK and Surface magazine. She took a tour of the new Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai for this issue of AD Middle East, interviewing Anouk Vogel about the striking desert-appropriate gardens she has created (p.36).

when there wasn’t a plane on the runway.
