Swathes of striking gold palm leaves and pampas grass displayed among a harmonious array of black candles and vases were the highlight of Anne Mulvihill’s Dubai-inspired table design. Stretching across the side of the venue, the display was definitely hard to miss. “The aim was to add the ‘bling’ factor with the rich, gold tones to give the design a Dubai touch,” Mulvihill says. “But we also wanted something that was classic because that’s our own personal style.” “The main centrepieces comprised palm leaves to give the display a beachy aesthetic,” she adds. “We wanted something elegant, sophisticated and classic, while also drawing a lot of inspiration from art deco designs.” Dream dinner guest? Barack Obama, he’s entertaining, knowledgeable and witty, I think it would be fun.
