Honeywell’s smart tech deployed at Bole International Airport
The company will deploy low-voltage terminal-side solutions to the terminal
Honeywell, an industrial IT solution provider, has been selected by Ethiopian Airports to deliver low-voltage, terminal-side solutions to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The latest development under Ethiopian Airports’ efforts to expand the capabilities of its international aviation hub, Honeywell has been tasked with delivering a range of smart technologies powered by IoT.
This includes both hardware and software-based systems that connect various aspects of the airport’s Terminal 2 operations, such as security, fire, access control and CCTV.
The project will also encompass the installation of Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI), a building management system that integrates functions of security, safety and energy control.
“Many airports around the globe like Bole International are seeing dramatic increases in traffic, and while this is making the world more connected, it also increases the complexity of providing efficient and reliable airport operations. By utilising our combination of IoT-based hardware and software, Honeywell is helping make fast-growth airports like Bole smarter and more efficient,” said Sean Smith, Honeywell’s president for Africa.
