Air Ara­bia set to kick off flights to Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur

The car­rier said flight to Malaysia’s cap­i­tal will op­er­ate daily from 1 July

Air Ara­bia has an­nounced plans to launch di­rect flights be­tween Shar­jah and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s cap­i­tal city, from July 1. The sev­en­hour flight will op­er­ate daily.

“We are pleased to add Kuala Lumpur to our global net­work of more than 155 des­ti­na­tions,” said Adel Al Ali, group CEO, Air Ara­bia.

“This beau­ti­ful city is a tremen­dous ad­di­tion to Air Ara­bia’s net­work, and we are con­fi­dent it will con­trib­ute fur­ther to the strong tourism and trade ties be­tween the UAE and Malaysia. We look for­ward to the start of the new flights that pro­vides our cus­tomers with a great value for money op­tion to travel be­tween both coun­tries.”

Kuala Lumpur is a modern metropo­lis dom­i­nated by the tallest sky­scrapers in South­east Asia, cul­tural diver­sity, count­less eater­ies, and spec­tac­u­lar sites and mon­u­ments.Air Ara­bia cur­rently op­er­ates flights to more than 155 routes across the globe from four hubs lo­cated in MENA.

In Fe­bru­ary 2019, Air Ara­bia re­ported an ac­cu­mu­lated loss of AED307 mil­lion ($83.5 mil­lion) due to its ex­po­sure to em­bat­tled pri­vate eq­uity firm Abraaj.
