ETI­HAD CARGO GOES DIG­I­TAL

Eti­had Cargo has em­barked on an am­bi­tious trans­for­ma­tion jour­ney over the past 12 months and has al­ready achieved sig­nif­i­cant mile­stones. Since im­ple­men­ta­tion, it has han­dled al­most half-a-mil­lion book­ings through iCargo, 20% of which were logged di­rectly via its web­site. It has also grown its monthly on­line book­ing rate from vir­tu­ally zero to nearly 34%. Driven by cus­tomer pref­er­ences, Cargo is im­ple­ment­ing in­creased dig­i­tal ef­fi­ciency across the com­pany, as ev­i­denced by the launch of its en­ter­prise data lake that pro­vides in­ter­nal ac­cess to on-de­mand in­for­ma­tion across all Eti­had Cargo’s sta­tions. This has cas­caded into the cre­ation of its state-of-the-art Cargo Con­trol Cen­tre. While this is only the start of Eti­had Cargo’s dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion jour­ney, it says it is near­ing the front of the early adopter curve. It aims to be com­mit­ted to fun­da­men­tally shift­ing the way it does busi­ness by cham­pi­oning a fully dig­i­talised ap­proach that en­hances cus­tomers’ ex­pe­ri­ence at ev­ery touch point. Ecom­merce pro­vides a key op­por­tu­nity for cargo op­er­a­tors in the UAE and rep­re­sents a core pil­lar of Eti­had Cargo’s strat­egy. It recog­nises the op­por­tu­ni­ties that in­creas­ing cus­tomer de­mand in this sector rep­re­sent. Its growth strat­egy is heav­ily fo­cused on this seg­ment.
