First look: Zabeel House The Greens by Jumeirah

Business Traveller (Middle East) - - Upfront -

THE THIRD HOTEL in the upscale casual Zabeel House by Jumeirah portfolio opens this month.

WHERE IS IT? Adjacent to The Greens residential neighbourhood, and near Emirates Golf Club and Emaar Business Park, the hotel occupies the third tower in the Onyx Towers precinct.

WHAT’S IT LIKE? Plenty of echoes to Al Seef with the Smeg minibar fridges and colourful designs (designed by LW Design, and art curated by local businesses such as Imad Bechara). But this property will appeal to the large residential community from day one, as well as visiting travellers.

ROOMS Entry level rooms looked a decent size (200 altogether), while the 10 apartments push the upscale boundaries, with facilities and finishings suitable for long stays.

F&B The Social Company serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to the right as you enter, and fourth floor Lah Lah (casual panAsian) leads out to the pool and a vast terrace (shisha) which is grassed along the side and has two cinema screens; it looks a good spot for corporate events and music. We were served a selection of dishes at Social Company (salads, flatbreads, gooey Camembert, roast beef and trimmings on a wooden tray). CORPORATE The attractive MICE ‘study’ floor comes with four meeting spaces, kitchen and terrace, and targets freelancers and coworkers. Guests who book Studio and above receive free access.

LEISURE The Native Club has a good-sized gym, outside sprint track and two treatment rooms with plant-filled concrete blocks.

PRICE from AED335 before taxes.
