As­cott opens first African res­i­dence

THE OPEN­ING OF Kwar­leyz Res­i­dence in Accra marks The As­cott Lim­ited’s first prop­erty in Africa. Over­look­ing Kofi An­nan Street in the Air­port Res­i­den­tial Area, the 40-unit ser­viced res­i­dence con­tains stu­dios and apart­ments.

The op­er­a­tor, which has also se­cured a con­tract to man­age As­cott 1 Ox­ford Street in the same city this year, an­tic­i­pates strong busi­ness travel de­mand.

Thomas Wee, As­cott’s Deputy Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor for the Mid­dle East, Africa, Tur­key & In­dia, said it sees po­ten­tial for ser­viced res­i­dences in Nige­ria, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal and “will ex­plore op­por­tu­ni­ties” in Nairobi, Ki­gali and Ad­dis Ababa.
