DUBAI TOURISM HAS UNVEILED the region’s first global retirement programme for expatriates and foreigners aged 55 and above.

The ‘Retire in Dubai’ (retireindubai.com) initiative, developed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, positions the emirate as the world’s preferred retirement destination, with key propositions for retirees covering healthcare, real estate, insurance and banking. Eligible applicants will be provided with a Retirement Visa, which is renewable every five years. The first phase of the programme is targeting UAE residents already working in Dubai who have reached retirement age and are familiar with the emirate’s value proposition.

The initial response to the scheme has been “remarkable”, according to Dubai Tourism Director General, Helal Almarri.
