New creative production company launches in Dubai
Ali Mansoor, the former business advisor and executive producer of film at MediaMonks in Dubai, has set up a new creative production company.
Baroque will officially launch in March but has been building its organisation and creative team since June last year. So far it has an in-house team of 21. Alongside Mansoor, the company’s founder and chief executive, are Bjarne Henriksen, the company’s ‘visionary’ creative director, chief creative officer Pascal Dash and regional content creative director Diane Farah. The team also i ncludes i n- house directors and interactive screenwriters as well as specialists in screenplays, soundtracks, VFX and 3D-animation.
Mansoor says the Dubaibased company will offer world-class creative production on a global scale and will specialise in a wide range of disciplines includi ng creative broadcast and digital production, interactive film, virtual reali ty, game development and mobile.
“We work with the world’s best agencies to turn great ideas into unforgettable campaigns,” says Mansoor. “Our model is based on offering ‘ skills at scale’ across the production disciplines. We describe our role as an integrated creative production partner because we do not only facilitate an idea but also walk the extra mile with agencies to technically realise their strategy and/or concepts and create successful campaigns”
He added: “Apart from always wanting to be independent and running my own business, I realised that companies can get too big – and too expensive. After more than 15 years in the advertising business developing a high level of professionalism and insight in both film production and the newest cutting edge technology, I am now fully aware of how to successfully run an innovative creative production company based on true value and fair, realistic budgets. Something that I strongly believe is the way to go now.
“The hallmark of Baroque – apart from high-quality, innovative and cutting edge technological, affordable productions – is that we’ll always be driven by real and true value in our productions. Baroque only gets involved in campaigns that will improve people’s lives by meeting real needs and solving real problems.”
The di re c t ors on Baroque’s roster already i nclude Luigi Dias, Argentine- born director and cinematographer Dario Sabina, and Milan- based Lorenzo Bassano. More will be added soon.
