Lo­eries awards open for en­tries

Now in its 40th year, the Lo­eries is call­ing on agen­cies from Africa and the Mid­dle East to en­ter their best work in the hopes of glory in Dur­ban.

En­tries are open for Lo­eries Africa Mid­dle East 2018, and all work run up to May 31 is el­i­gi­ble. Brands and agen­cies are en­cour­aged to en­ter their best work, say the or­gan­is­ers.

“This is the 40th year that the Lo­eries, a proudly not-for-profit com­pany, has been re­ward­ing cre­ativ­ity,” says Lo­eries CEO An­drew Hu­man. “In 2017 we at­tracted 3,000 en­tries and the Mid­dle East did ex­cep­tion­ally well, winning 58 of the 319 Lo­eries awarded, in­clud­ing three of the five Grands Prix.”

The Lo­eries re­wards the most in­no­va­tive work across the ad­ver­tis­ing and brand com­mu­ni­ca­tion in­dus­try, in­clud­ing ar­eas such as de­sign, mu­sic videos, ar­chi­tec­ture, shared value and ser­vice de­sign. To mir­ror the con­stant changes across the me­dia land­scape, some cat­e­gories have been re­vised. The en­try sys­tem has also been up­dated to sim­plify the process and al­low en­trants more con­trol over their sub­mis­sions.

Lo­eries Creative Week, one of Africa and the Mid­dle East’s big­gest creative fes­ti­vals, brings to­gether the best minds from the brand com­mu­ni­ca­tion in­dus­try and in­cludes mas­ter­classes, the DSTV Sem­i­nar of Cre­ativ­ity, a fringe fes­ti­val and two nights of award shows. It will be hosted in Dur­ban, South Africa, from Thurs­day 16 to Sun­day 19 Au­gust.
