It was TBWA’s year at the 2018 Dubai Lynx awards, held at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah on Wednesday, March 14. Raad was heard to remark on the night that as his agency turns 18, it has come of age. TBWA won Grands Prix in Innovation, Direct, PR, Promo & Activation, Creative Effectiveness, Mobile, Interactive and Radio & Audio. Eight GPs must be a Lynx record. Following an extensive pitch process with a heavy focus on both planning and buying capabilities that was carried out over the duration of a year, Starcom Egypt has been appointed to handle the account of Etisalat Misr. The pitch involved Starcom and four of Egypt’s top agencies. The incumbent agency represented Etisalat Misr for more than 11 years.

Etisalat Misr is a subsidiary of Etisalat Group, which has a presence in 16 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Etisalat group entered the Egyptian market in May 2007.

Etisalat Misr, has maintained technology leadership and serves millions across Egypt with the best quality of products and services, making it a market leader in the telecom industry in Egypt and aiming to “become the brand of choice in the Egyptian telecom market,” said Starcom.

The Publicis Media Group agency will manage the full scope of media services across Egypt. Duties span across all strategic planning, media buying and customer engagement.

Hossam Omar, brand management and marketing communications expert at Etisalat Misr, says: “We are looking forward to this journey with Starcom, which has a profound expertise in integrated communication strategies and execution in a rapidly evolving media landscape.”
