Memac Ogilvy has announced the appointment of
as the agency’s new managing director for the UAE.
Berthelot’s appointment follows the announcement of Patou Nuytemans as MENA CEO in September 2017. Nuytemans also led the UAE agency for one year after succeeding Memac founder and chairman Edmond Moutran, who shifted to executive chairman. In his new role, Berthelot will lead the agency’s UAE operations, drawing on more than two decades of experience spanning across three continents. Formerly with Impact BBDO Dubai for six years, Berthelot has previously helped spearhead the creative and financial growth of Unilever’s second largest brand, Lipton, as global business director. He also participated in the early growth and success of Publicis Groupe’s creatively renowned agency Marcel in Paris as managing director. Leo Burnett has announced the appointment of as deputy managing director of Leo Burnett Dubai. Reporting to executive regional managing director Kamal Dimachkie, she will be an integral part in the growth of the creative agency. Jammal will also be the key point of contact for senior clients across the organisation and lead innovative and creative solutions for current and prospective accounts.
Jammal brings 25 years of advertising experience across the MENA region. She served as managing director for Leo Burnett Jordan and Iraq before moving to
Dubai to lead some of Leo Burnett’s premier accounts – McDonald’s, Bel and Ferrero. In addition to her time at Leo Burnett, Jammal has held senior roles in global digital creative shops within Publicis Groupe including Saatchi & Saatchi, as well as D’Arcy, Promoseven and Weber Shandwick.
has become the new general manager of Serviceplan Group Middle East and joined the Haus der Kommunikation, located in Dubai Design District.
Shardan, who is originally from Jordan, has more than 13 years of experience in the advertising industry. After earning her bachelor of arts, she joined BBDO Dubai in 2005. In 2009, she decided to move to Florence, Italy, where she studied and graduated from Polimoda, the renowned international Institute for Fashion Design and Marketing, before she returned to advertising in 2010.
Back in the region, she joined Y&R, followed by JWT in 2012, MullenLowe MENA in 2014, and Nomads, where she worked as a client servicing director before she joined Serviceplan in August 2018. Shardan’s advertising background has seen her counsel and build global brands including Emirates Airline, PepsiCo, Nestle, Mercedes Benz, Mondelez, Pizza Hut, Bloomingdales and HSBC.
