To launch footwear brand Birkenstock’s EVA Col­lec­tion, DViO Dig­i­tal launched a unique In­sta­gram cam­paign, aimed at get­ting max­i­mum vis­i­bil­ity for the new col­lec­tion and also help­ing grow the brand’s In­sta­gram com­mu­nity by di­vert­ing traf­fic from its pri­mary plat­form, Face­book. It used In­sta­gram’s Grid ca­pa­bil­i­ties, and was launched with a teaser on that plat­form and Face­book, en­cour­ag­ing those who saw it to un­jum­ble a puz­zle and send the an­swer to Birkenstock. The com­pe­ti­tion re­ceived 1,024 en­tries, and the hash­tag earned more than a mil­lion im­pres­sions.
