Cannes Lions announces seven UAE jury members
Motivate Media Group and Motivate Val Morgan, as the official representatives of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, have announced that seven leading advertising professionals from the UAE have been selected as jury members for this year’s Festival.
They will represent the UAE in the awards and shortlist jury panels under Print & Publishing, Design, Glass – The Lion for Change, Media, PR, Direct and Brand Experience & Activation categories.
Executive creative director at TBWA/Raad Fouad Abdel Malak will sit on the Print & Publishing awards jury. He has led some of the most awarded teams in the region, as well as working on sought-after brands such as Nissan, Louvre Abu Dhabi, KFC, Pepsico, Emirates Airlines, MARS, Du and GE.
Grey Group ECD Vidya Manmohan will sit on the Design awards jury. She has sat on the jury of international awards including Clio, NewYork Festivals and Lisbon Ad Fest, and recently was also a part of the Young Guns and Adfest.
Ali Rez, regional ECD for the Middle East and Pakistan at BBDO Worldwide, will sit on the awards jury for Glass – The Lion for Change. Ranked amongst the top 15 creative directors and the top 10 art directors in the world by the Big Won Report, and named the 2018 South Asian Creative Person of the Year by Campaign, he is one of the most awarded ECDs in the region.
Tarek Daouk, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network MENA, will sit on the shortlist jury for Media.
Valerie Tan, vice- president for public relations, social media and internal communications at Emirates Group, will be on the PR shortlist jury.
Dhruv Warrior, associate creative director at VMLY&R Dubai, will sit on the shortlist jury for the Direct category.
Marie Claire Maalouf, creative director at Impact BBDO Dubai, will be on the shortlist jury for Brand Experience & Activation.
The shortlist jury members will conduct the first round of judging in advance of the festival, from the UAE, but will be invited to attend with complimentary passes.
This year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will run from June 17-21, and will take place in Cannes in the south of France.
