Armale, Malouf take new roles

Internal promotion to global innovation head for Geometry strategist, while P&G comms manager moves to Schneider Electric.

TALA SHEIKH AMIN has been appointed as client director at search engine optimisati­on company Bruce Clay MENA. Amin’s career at Bruce Clay MENA began in 2015 as an executive, and she previously occupied the role of social media director at the agency. She will now be overseeing the growth of the agency across all verticals.

ALEX MALOUF has taken up a new role as corporate communicat­ions director for Schneider Electric in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. He was previously with Procter & Gamble for seven years.

Malouf takes on a newly created role at the French energy multinatio­nal, reporting to Firdaus Shariff, regional VP of marketing, communicat­ions and digital customer experience.

Malouf joined P&G in 2013, serving in the FMCG’s corporate communicat­ions team across India, the Middle East and Africa.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East has appointed KRISHAN

BODHANI as director of sales and marketing. He has taken over from Andreas Bueckmann. Bodhani started his career with Audi and Volkswagen and held a number of senior roles across sales, marketing, after-sales and product management. He joined Mercedes-Benz UK in 2015 as head of Smart, where he led and developed Smart in the UK to achieve record sales growth in 2015 and record sales in 2016.

CNN Internatio­nal Commercial (CNNIC) has promoted CATHY IBAL to the role of senior vice-president of the EMEA region, based in Paris and reporting to Rani Raad, president of CNNIC.

The new position is an expansion of Ibal’s previous role where she was vicepresid­ent of advertisin­g sales for Middle East, Africa and Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, and was responsibl­e for some of CNN Internatio­nal’s largest commercial partnershi­ps. As senior vice-president, Ibal will now also lead CNN’s commercial teams responsibl­e for the France, Switzerlan­d, Germany, Austria and Belgium markets. NART BOURAN, senior vice-president for news, programmin­g and transforma­tion. Bouran will become CEO of Internatio­nal Media Investment (IMI) Holding, based in Abu Dhabi.

IMI’s media brands include The National and Al Ain Media Platform (Al-Ain.com) in Abu Dhabi, The Vision, and a 50 per cent stake in Sky News Arabia, a joint venture with Sky UK, as well as a minority stake in Euronews.

Bouran headed Sky News Arabia when it launched in 2012. Geometry Global, WPP’s creative commerce agency, has promote ROY ARMALE to global chief innovation officer, tasked with re-engineerin­g and embedding a leading-edge platform and tools to enable the delivery of Geometry’s ‘Living Commerce’ operating system globally. He will also oversee the agency’s innovation practice, embedding the use of technology into the strategic and creative process to accelerate growth opportunit­ies for clients.
