Two F&B winners at Hotelier Awards 2018
Executive Chef of the Year and F&B Manager of the Year were up for grabs
Kuldeep Singh and Firas Hasanat were the F&B winners at this year’s Hotelier Awards in Dubai.
Singh, who has over 30 years of experience in t he industry and is currently the executive chef for conferences and events for Madinat Jumeirah and executive chef at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, took the prize for Executive Chef of the Year sponsored by Diversey. He beat Le Meridien Dubai and Le Meridien Fairway executive chef Dominic Petzold into second.
Hasanat, the director of food and beverage from Mövenpick Resort Petra walked away with F&B Manager of the Year 2018, at the competition run by our sister magazine Hotelier Middle East.
Hasanat, who began his journey at the hotel in 1997 as a waiter, climbed up the ranks, hopped to captain and finally got promoted to F&B manager five years ago. In February 2018, he was appointed to the role of director of F&B.
Some of Hasanat’s notable achievements include designing the f irst Jordanian family food programme. The vision of the programme is to collect food recipes from all counties of Jordan to present the local food culture to the visitors coming to see Petra. He also initiated Jordanian cooking classes for the guests.
The awards saw over 400 people from across the hospitality industry descend upon the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre on Wednesday, October 24 to celebrate the best of the best in the sector.
