Two F&B win­ners at Hote­lier Awards 2018

Ex­ec­u­tive Chef of the Year and F&B Man­ager of the Year were up for grabs

Kuldeep Singh and Fi­ras Hasanat were the F&B win­ners at this year’s Hote­lier Awards in Dubai.

Singh, who has over 30 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in t he in­dus­try and is cur­rently the ex­ec­u­tive chef for con­fer­ences and events for Mad­i­nat Jumeirah and ex­ec­u­tive chef at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, took the prize for Ex­ec­u­tive Chef of the Year spon­sored by Di­versey. He beat Le Meri­dien Dubai and Le Meri­dien Fair­way ex­ec­u­tive chef Do­minic Pet­zold into sec­ond.

Hasanat, the di­rec­tor of food and bev­er­age from Möven­pick Re­sort Pe­tra walked away with F&B Man­ager of the Year 2018, at the com­pe­ti­tion run by our sis­ter mag­a­zine Hote­lier Mid­dle East.

Hasanat, who be­gan his jour­ney at the ho­tel in 1997 as a waiter, climbed up the ranks, hopped to cap­tain and fi­nally got pro­moted to F&B man­ager five years ago. In Fe­bru­ary 2018, he was ap­pointed to the role of di­rec­tor of F&B.

Some of Hasanat’s no­table achieve­ments in­clude de­sign­ing the f irst Jor­da­nian fam­ily food pro­gramme. The vi­sion of the pro­gramme is to col­lect food recipes from all coun­ties of Jor­dan to present the lo­cal food cul­ture to the visi­tors com­ing to see Pe­tra. He also ini­ti­ated Jor­da­nian cook­ing classes for the guests.

The awards saw over 400 peo­ple from across the hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try de­scend upon the Le Meri­dien Dubai Ho­tel and Con­fer­ence Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 24 to cel­e­brate the best of the best in the sec­tor.
