Il Borro op­er­a­tor to launch res­tau­rant on Blue­wa­ters Is­land

Alici will be a seafood res­tau­rant in­spired by Italy’s Amalfi coast

Or­ange Hos­pi­tal­ity, the op­er­a­tor of Il Borro Tus­can Bistro at Mad­i­nat Jumeirah is set to open an Ital­ian seafood res­tau­rant on the new Blue­wa­ters Is­land in Dubai.

Alici, which means ‘an­chovies’, is in­spired by south­ern Italy’s Amalf i coast and will of­fer fresh, high qual­ity seafood i n a two-storey set­ting with spec­tac­u­lar sea views.

The menu fea­tures Amal­fi­tana and south of Italy spe­cial­i­ties that will vary ac­cord­ing to sea­son and sea avail­abil­ity. Alici head chef Domenico San­ta­gada will serve up con­tem­po­rary seafood dishes plus some meat op­tions, adapt­ing and cre­at­ing his menus ac­cord­ing to what the fish­er­man bring in each day to en­sure fresh­ness.

Frisella with an­chovies and bur­rata is a clas­sic starter along with Italy's f in­est caviar se­lec­tion and Alici's sig­na­ture crudo dish, the Ital­ian raw seafood plat­ter. Dubai din­ers will also taste smoked, salted, and dry cod, home­made ca­vatelli with cut­tlef ish ragu, tagli­olini with ricci di mare served up in an urchin ce­ramic plate, hand crafted in Italy ex­clu­sively for Alici. The home­made Amalfi lemon mousse and lemon cheese cake is promised to be the pick of the desserts.

The wine list fea­tures sev- eral lo­cal la­bels from South Italy, mainly or­ganic white wine to be paired with seafood, as well as the best spir­its from the rest of the world. An ex­cel­lent cock­tail list, in­spired by the scent of se­lected Ital­ian i ngre­di­ents and spir­its will make Alici a pop­u­lar af­ter-din­ner spot.

Piero Giglio, di­rec­tor of op­er­a­tions for Or­ange Hos­pi­tal­ity, shared that the res­tau­rant will of­fer an ap­petis­ing and var­ied lunch and din­ner op­tions that will be pre­pared fresh daily, di­rectly on t he premises with re­spect to the cus­tomers’ pref­er­ences.

The li­censed 230-seater res­tau­rant is over two f loors and it will also have an out­door terrace where guests can en­joy the per­fect din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence over­look­ing the Ara­bian Gulf and the Dubai sky­line.
