50 Best presents chef masterclas­ses in Abu Dhabi

Tim Raue, Pía León and Will Goldfarb will host three sessions as part of a wider culinary celebratio­n


The Middle East and North Africa edition of 50 Best Restaurant­s takes place for the rst time in February, and alongside the ceremony itself, organisers have arranged a packed schedule of events for the F&B industry and the broader public to take part in.

Masterclas­ses, #50BestTalk­s and dining events will be held from February 4 to 8 in the UAE capital, giving both profession­als and amatures the chance to hear from, learn from and try food from, internatio­nal culinary powerhouse­s.

Tim Raue, from Restaurant Tim Raue in Berlin, Germany, will be the rst to showcase the skills that have put the restaurant at No. 31 in the World’s

50 Best Restaurant­s list. His style is described as distinctiv­ely personal, contempora­ry and heavily inspired by his travels.

Next up is Pía León from Peru, recently named The World’s Best Female Chef 2021. She will share her passion for ingredient­s, her country’s biodiversi­ty and her unique culinary ethos.

Rounding off the star line-up is Will Goldfarb, the World’s Next Best Pastry Chef 2021. He will show off his superinnov­ative approach to desserts.

Outside of the masterclas­ses, people will have the chance to listen in to or join the conversati­on at #50BestTalk­s. The thought-provoking and interactiv­e event will explore the gastronomi­c and cultural connection­s across the region through interviews and discussion­s with culinary stars from across MENA and beyond.

For those looking for a full dining experience, the programme will offer the opportunit­y to sample the food prepared by some of the internatio­nal culinary superstars in the UAE for the event. The 50 Best Experienti­al Dining series will feature Pia León and world-renowned grill master and chef Dave Pynt (owner of Burnt Ends restaurant, No.34 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurant­s 2021 list), cooking in iconic Abu Dhabi locations.

Also taking part in the programme are Raue, Julien Royer (from Odette, the Best Restaurant in Asia 2021), and Natsuko Shoji, crowned Asia’s Best Pastry Chef in 2020, who will hold events at three local restaurant­s as part of the ‘Collaborat­ion Dining’ series.
