Our Dubai Ma­rina Mall branch can seat 160 peo­ple and of­fers both in­door and al fresco din­ing. Zafran has one dis­tinc­tive fea­ture, a stunning col­lage art in­stal­la­tion de­pict­ing the art, cul­ture and his­tory of India cre­ated ex­clu­sively for the venue by renowned Arab artist, Jef­far Khaldi.

What are the sig­na­ture items on the menu?

Our sig­na­ture items in­clude clas­sic recipes that have been put to­gether with a spe­cial Zafran twist like the Da­hee ke­babs, which are deep-fried yo­ghurt dumplings, aloo tikkia, bhatti ke­babs and the chicken malai tikka.

What is in­ter­est­ing about the bev­er­age of­fer?

Our bev­er­age of­fer­ing has an in­ter­est­ing col­lec­tion of home-made recipes that are not only great tast­ing thirst quenchers but are re­fresh­ing as well. We use nat­u­ral in­gre­di­ents in our drinks, that are blended to or­der in house. Our guest favourites are the fruit drinks – Wa­ter­melon and mint smash, kiwi mo­jito, very berry and the ap­ple cin­na­mon twist.

Who de­signed the in­te­ri­ors and how do they re­flect the con­cept?

The in­te­ri­ors of Zafran has been de­signed by Paul Bishop of Bishop De­signs. Zafran is stylish but ca­sual, com­fort­able and ap­proach­able. It is el­e­gantly ur­ban and non-in­tim­i­dat­ing. The front fas­cia of the kitchen is all car­bonised wood in­set with a beau­ti­ful brass strip de­tail­ing meant to repli­cate the tan­door.

What was the rea­son be­hind the ren­o­va­tion?

Cus­tomers to­day are well-trav­elled, dis­cern­ing, crit­i­cal and de­mand that you evolve with the chang­ing times. The only thing con­stant is change. We looked at our brand and thought this was the time for that change.
