Xiaomi launches new brand
Pocophone F1 features liquid cooling
Smartphone vendor Xiaomi has launched a new sub-brand the Pocophone - which has been optimised for mobile gaming.
The first device in the range, the Pocophone F1, will sell from 1249 AED, and has features optimised for gaming and photography.
The Pocophone F1 has a 4000mAh battery that can sustain eight hours of non-stop gaming, and runs on the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform. It includes LiquidCool Technology cooling system, which enables sustained performance and 300% more effective heat dispersal than non-liquid cooling technology, the company says.
For cameras, the Pocophone has a 12MP AI dual camera with Sony IMX363 primary sensor with Dual Pixel Autofocus. The front camera is a 20MP featuring Super Pixel technology that combines the information of four pixels into one large 1.8μm pixel for clearer images with less noise. Both the rear and front cameras are supported by AI features for photos, such as AI Portrait, AI Beautify, and AI Scene Detection.
The phone runs a highly customised MIUI interface based on Android 8.1 Oreo, for lighter, faster, and smoother experience, including faster navigation and app launching.
