SolarWinds promotes new platform

In addition to exhibiting for the first time at GITEX Technology Week 2018, SolarWinds, a provider of IT management software, has unveiled the latest updates to its SolarWinds Orion Platform.

Serving as a modular and scalable, unified monitoring architecture, the Orion Platform enables IT departments to add modules as their business develops, while providing a holistic view of both critical services, as well as key metrics and data.

Sascha Giese was on hand, to demonstrate the latest updates of the Orion platform during the show.

“Solarwinds is one of the global providers of IT monitoring solutions. We monitor all aspects of IT, such as the network applications, and it doesn’t matter if this stuff is located on premise or in the cloud, or hybrid, or in between. We even monitor the path from the cloud to an on premise deployment, which not many companies do,” said Giese.

Recent additions to the unified IT monitoring and management platform includes the 12.3 update for the Network Performance Monitor (NPM), which introduces monitoring capabilities for multi-vendor environments, along with inclusion of a server and application monitor for overseeing application performance.

Additionally, the new platform incorporates a server configuration manager (SCM), the 12.0 update of the database performance analyser (DPA), and a log manager that boasts real-time log collection, analysis and visualisation.

Remarking on the ever-evolving world of ICT, Giese noted that big data is quickly becoming more and more crucial to the daily operation of a number of organisations but challenges around data management and bandwidth need to be addressed.

Giese says SolawWinds monitors all aspects of IT.
