Re­gional value-added dis­trib­u­tor (VAD) launched its cloud mar­ket­place and an­nounced new plans on how it’s pre­par­ing its chan­nel part­ners for growth in what seemed to have been a chal­leng­ing first quar­ter of 2018. Mime­cast rolled out ro­bust chan­nel part­ner pro­grammes, se­cu­rity vendor Trend Mi­cro in­creased in­vest­ments and ap­point­ment a new area VP for the Mid­dle East and Africa. Af­ter com­ing out of Chap­ter 11 at the start of the year, Avaya re­vealed that it was ac­quir­ing CCaS part­ner. We also re­ported that Huawei had ex­panded its OpenLab in the Mid­dle East, while GBM an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Was­sim Se­li­man as GM for Kuwait.
