BARCO TO SHOWCASE UNISEE VIDEO WALL TECHNOLOGY
Ramzi Itani, vice president, Barco Middle East and Africa (MEA) lays out the company’s strategy at the 2019 Intersec and how the company is promoting visual collaboration solutions in the market.
We hope to leverage on Intersec’s standing as one of the most significant platforms to connect with the leading authorities in the security and surveillance industry, to invest in conversations that would help accelerate our growth in this vital sector in the Middle East.
Talk us through your participation at Intersec 2019.
We have joined forces with our partner Intertech Vision ME again for the tenth consecutive year at Intersec, where we will showcase the latest innovations from Barco’s KVD and UniSee video wall technology.
Barco, along with Intertech, will also introduce a new software, RAMSys 2.0, a situational management platform for security and surveillance that aims to collect and aggregate many alarms or incidents. It is highly comprehensive software that visualises the incidents, analyses and verifies the situation, provides reports and findings, launches appropriate procedures and records all the incidents/alarms and actions taken.
What technologies will you be showcasing at this year’s show?
The revolutionary Barco UniSee and KVD video wall solutions will be showcased as a spotlight product for the first time in the Middle East at Intersec. The unique LCD video wall technology completely revolutionises the LCD video wall experience by redesigning and optimising every minute component of the technology, resulting in a new way to look at large screen visualisation. It ensures amazing image quality, while being super easy to install, maintain and service. We are looking forward to showcasing its unique features to visitors at Intersec.
What is it important for your company to be at a show like Intersec?
Intersec’s market reach goes beyond just the Middle East and Africa region. As the world’s most premier security event, Intersec also provides us the ideal platform to launch our new Situational Management Platform.
We hope to leverage on this market reach to build awareness of our product portfolio and showcase our innovative technology solutions to a large network of target stakeholders.
What are your key objectives and what are you hoping to achieve at Intersec this year?
As a newly launched product of our partner Intertech, will be showcased for the first time at Intersec. We are keen to create market awareness for RAMsys 2.0 in the region and beyond. We hope to leverage on Intersec’s standing as one of the most significant platforms to connect with the leading authorities in the security and surveillance industry, to invest in conversations that would help accelerate our growth in this sector.
Adoption of commercial security, cyber security, smart home, perimeter and physical security products have been on the increase in the Middle East. How is your company contributing to this surge?
Today, more and more data needs to be monitored as threats and risks are evolving faster than ever. The biggest challenge we are faced with today is that it becomes impossible to manage all the threats and risks. RAMsys 2.0 is an important solution to tackle the growth thread of security as it creates rapid and effective response by aggregating multiple alarms from multiple locations, visualises, correlates and verifies the type of alarm, and escalates, shares and acts effectively and immediately.
What does 2019 have in store for the regional IT security channel in the Middle East?
The conversation on security has become more pertinent than ever before, globally as well as in the Middle East, with cyber security playing an increasingly important role. Artificial intelligence (AI) is proving to be a powerful tool and is largely driving the innovation in security and surveillance, providing deeper insights, advanced data analytics, facial and voice recognition and minimal response time.
