Agood makeup can banish your dark circles, fake a glowing skin, plump up your lips and change the shape of your eyes and the eyebrows. Almost every girl every where wants to look stunning and transform her face. No wonder, the career of a makeup artist is booming than ever before.

In fact, almost everyone on Instagram is a ‘beauty blogger’ who makes makeup videos. Samira Olfat who is a celebrity makeup artist and the founder of max factor academy told us why any aspiring makeup artist must learn the skills by going to an academy and learning the tricks from the professionals.

“There is a huge difference in your confidence with your makeup on as compared to no makeup on. With makeup, any woman feel that she can conquer the world,” said Samira while talking to City Times at her academy.

Kim Kardashian who is also known as the queen of contouring introduced the world to the art of applying dark foundation in certain parts of the face to make your face thinner. “If you play with shades and shadows, you can change the shape of your face and your nose. We are not magicians but we have the skill to transform you to your better version of self,” says Samira while describing the tricks of her profession.

She also told us that the history of makeup actually

lies in the Middle East. “True makeup actually came from the Middle East. Thousands of years ago, women from the Middle East were wearing saffron for colors or the burnt almond as kohl as their make up. Making yourself pretty came thousands of years ago from the Middle East. It is there in the blood of the females in this region. No wonder Dubai is one of the strongest market for the makeup industry,” said Samira.

Samira has come a long way from being an architect to a graduate in makeup. She told us why following one’s passion is the most important thing. “My mother was the most beautiful for me and she was my inspiration as she was always doing her makeup and I loved the way her face was constantly transforming. As a teenager, I pursued my degree of being an architect and when I finished my studies, I decided to pursue my passion. There are times when we do things that we are not passionate about due to pressure from society and parents. In 2004, I started going to a makeup school in Dubai and after graduating in 2007, I joined max factor. In 2010, I came up with the idea of starting an academy and in 2013 it got approved.”
