Cannes fashion pick: Celebs who stood out
BLING BLING: RIHANNA
Never one to disappoint as far as edgy style is concerned, Rihanna turned up to the Chopard Space Party in a Disney-style blue gown split down the centre. She showed off her tattooed wrist adorned with a sparkling silver bracelet.
DARE TO BARE: EMILY RATAJKOWSKI
US model Emily Ratajkowski, best known for starring in the controversial music video for Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, turned many a head Thursday night with a revealing (so much so that we can’t really reproduce the entire picture here) lacy jumpsuit by Norwegian designer Peter Dundas. The outfit, described by Harper’s as “the craziest jumpsuit we’ve ever seen”, combined the practicality of trouser legs with near-nudity and a cumbersome ruffled train the size of a pair of curtains. Several fashion outlets have already crowned her the best-dressed at this year’s Cannes, with Grazia tweeting: “It’s official. Emily Ratajkowski just won best dressed at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.”
QUIRKY ELEGANCE: ELLE FANNING
We love it when stars make a statement on the red carpet. Elle’s Vivienne Westwood Couture gown was created especially for the starlet with the hand-painted print referencing her name via planets and shooting stars called ‘Elle.’
SNAKE CHARMER: BELLA HADID
Bella Hadid redefined glamour in her quilted red gown and jewel-encrusted serpent necklace on the Cannes red carpet at the premiere of the film Okja. We are loving that necklace but afraid to ask how much it costs!
SPARKLY: KENDALL JENNER
She always looks sensational, whether on or off the ramp, and is probably the least annoying of the Kardashian clan. As far as we’re concerned, her elegant sparkly silver dress from Ralph & Russo Spring 2017 Couture with Chopard jewellery at the Chopard Space Party gets a big thumbs up.
