All About buildings
All major cities in the world have one thing in common; they all have tall skyscrapers. The skyline of these cities is dominated by tall towers defining their character and giving them a unique perspective. These buildings are made of metal, and glass designed by some big names in the world of architecture. Some of these buildings have sharp edges while some are straight like an arrow; each with its own unique characteristics.
In Feng Shui, tall buildings have a special place. During olden times there were no buildings and the landscape was defined by mountains and open land or a water body. Over a period of time mountains have disappeared and open lands have been converted to busy roads. Instead of mountains we have buildings of all different heights, giving an illusion of mountains.
In Feng Shui, mountains serve as a barrier or a fence. Fast moving energy, when it needs to be harnessed, is done through a mountain range. Open area or moving water stops at the base of a mountain, thus creating a massive pool of energy at the base. Mountains helps in containing this energy in its place and also protects the energy from being dispersed. Therefore, in traditional Feng Shui a mountain is a very important part of a landscape. Without mountains, energy will move fast and will disintegrate.
In modern cities where we don’t have landscapes with mountain formation, tall buildings act like mountains. Having buildings on both sides of a fast-moving road helps in containing the energy within that area leading to prosperity and growth. In the case of Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road has tall towers on both sides of the road with many major businesses located around the road. Due to this formation, businesses near this road have been profitable and have grown over the years. A similar formation is seen in Downtown Dubai and near Burj Khalifa. Some of the most expensive real estate in the world is in this area and it is considered to be one of the main hubs of Dubai.
When the formation of a city is based on Feng Shui it can create a conducive environment for businesses to flourish.
