Why Angelina Jolie could be starring in her career’s biggest flop...
What’s your favourite Angelina Jolie movie? Tomb Raider? Girl Interrupted? Mr and Mrs Smith? What about her current role as vindictive ex-wife? OK, I know I might sound a bit harsh and, obviously, none of us really know what happens in a marriage or in a divorce. However, (and this is a big however) there are blatant signs from Angelina that she’s just, straight up, weird.
There’s no denying that Angelina is a strong woman. She gets things done. She’s not only accomplished as an actress but the humanitarian work she’s involved in can only be highly commended. We always knew she was strong and we always knew she was weird. Example: wearing a vial of ex Billy Bob Thorton’s blood. Having an affair with Brad Pitt knowing he was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time. And now with their divorce and custody battle turning public and nasty, we can’t help but notice how manipulative Angelina seems to be.
She’s using the media as a secret weapon to get custody. Recently she’s been taking all her six kids to places she knows the paparazzi will be. Let me make something clear. She recently did this when she took her children to the clothing store Fred Segal. The kids look awkward and miserable. However, Angelina looks ... she’s not smiling but seems pleased. We shouldn’t judge something through a few photos but, it’s important to remember that Angelina and Brad Pitt have generally been private about their personal lives. So being photographed on two separate occasions by the paparazzi in places you know the paparazzi will be is… suspect. Especially when you factor in that Angelina wants full custody of the children. She wants to make sure the public gets the impression that she’s a good mother. I doubt that will work.
Truth is, we don’t know what Angelina is like in her private life. But publically, despite the great humanitarian work she does, Angelina is unlikeable. Especially after all the stunts she pulled on Brad when they first got divorced. Didn’t she get child services and the FBI involved? Claiming that Brad physically abused their son on a plane? Brad was never charged with anything.
Even her divorce lawyer has had enough. Laura Wasser, dubbed the disso queen, has handled the divorces of Kim Kardashian, Christina Aguilera, Kelis, Britney Spears, and Halle Berry to name a few. She’s handled her fair share of high profile divorces and doesn’t need the attention or the money. But if she just wanted the extra money it would be very easy for her to just go with the flow and stay representing Angelina. But she chose not to.
To be honest with you, I don’t even think that Angelina is bankable as an actress anymore. Would any of us care to see a movie starring Angelina? I doubt it. It’s hard now, for any of us, to see her as anything but Angelina Jolie. The character that’s now presented to us, the role she’s playing in the tabloids is the role that will be her demise as an actress.
