THE DOCTOR HAS ARRIVED!

For the first time ever, the iconic role of Doctor Who is being played by a woman; lead actress Jodie Whittaker talks about what we can expect from the new series premiering today!

Doctor Who Season 11 premieres today at 23:45 UAE time on BBC First (OSN channel 215).

THE WAIT IS finally over. After twelve Doctor Whos, number thirteen (we are reclaiming this number to be a lucky number from now on by the way) is played by a woman.

Bigger and bolder than ever, this series marks the arrival of Jodie Whittaker – the Thirteenth Doctor, a super-smart force of nature, alongside a team of new and delightful characters. Alongside Jodie’s character, is an all-new cast which include Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole.

“Finally, Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor is about to crash land on to the screens. It’s thrilling to think, in the next few weeks and months, there will be children who’ve never seen the show before encountering Jodie’s Doctor. She’ll be forever their Doctor: you never forget your first,” says series showrunner, Chris Chibnall (writer of the hit series Broadchurch).

The Doctor Who series is literally for everyone. You don’t need to have seen the previous series, you don’t need to know the elaborate history of the show, all you need to do is sit down and watch it, and experience the show for the first time. But how do you take a refreshing approach to a show that everyone knows? Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh and Chris Chibnall gave us their thoughts on why we have to tune into this breakthrough season of Doctor Who. Here’s what they said:
