The Daddy of Bollywood Remixes is coming to town
Celebrity DJ Aqeel to perform in Dubai after a decade, supported by DJS Zubair and Shadow

IT’S BEEN NEARLY A decade since one of the pioneers of Bollywood remixes visited our shores for a performance. However, dance music lovers will be mighty thrilled to know that they can groove to DJ Aqeel’s tunes once again as he comes to Dubai with his electrifying Disco 82 Tour. The party gets underway at Club 6, Dubai World Trade Centre, on August 15 from 10pm until 3am, with the celebrity DJ hitting the decks alongside top notch Bollywood DJS from Dubai like Shadow and Zubair.
“I am really excited and eagerly looking forward to playing again to the fantastic Dubai audience after almost a decade. Disco 82 Tour will be an unforgettable experience,” said DJ Aqeel.
Talking about Return of DJ Aqeel: Disco 82, which coincides with the Indian Independence Day celebrations in the city, Navin Rishi, the promoter of the event, said, “DJ Aqeel enjoys a great fan following across the globe and since he is coming to Dubai after a long gap of 10 years, I am sure it’s going to be a super hit event. It’s a great venue with spectacular audio-visuals and special lights, it will be one mega event for party lovers.”

Remixes or Don of Remixes, DJ Aqeel is one of the pioneers of Bollywood remixes and dance music. He was one of the first artists to mix popular Bollywood tracks with EDM influences. He has had the privilege of entertaining the likes of Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan and others during the World Economic Forum. His official remixes include Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga as well as songs from Bollywood movies like Bunty Aur Babli (Kajra Re), Om Shanti Om (Dard-e-disco, Deewangi), Dus Kahaniyaan (title track), Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (Lazy Lamhe) and Saawariya to name a few. Aqeel’s Shake it Daddy Mix album was a massive hit. He has scored nine blockbuster albums with over 7 million copies sold worldwide so far.
Ahead of the event, we spoke to DJ Aqeel to know what he has been upto since his last gig here. I am overjoyed and very happy to be back and play in Dubai for my fans and friends. A lot changed. I have been playing all over the world, hence I am updated of what is happening in the world of music. However, I am now looking forward to entertaining the audience in Dubai. Navin and I have planned few concerts. But, it is not only about the music, it will be a the whole experience. It will be a night to remember for everyone. I will be going shopping as well as visit some of the restaurants here. Dubai is such a beautiful city, I love it! Social media is the most important way to display my talent, updating people about my life. Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, David Guetta, Martin Garrix. Newcomers should first learn how to make music, it is very important. Only after that, can they play music of their own style or sound.
I am working on my new album and some music for Bollywood films. I will also be taking my Disco 82 Tour around the world.
