The 1975

-

Just in case you haven’t seen the billions of reminders, Grammy and Mercury Prize nominated The 1975 are bringing their criticallyacclaimed live show to Coca-cola Arena tonight. Tickets are available at coca-cola-arena.com and bookmyshow.com though be quick to catch the final few and rock out.

The Eid festivities are underway and whether you are at home spending quality time with your loved ones or out and about enjoying the UAE’S various hotspots, we hope you are making the most of this break.

To cap the long glorious week off, there are multiple major blockbusters awaiting our viewing pleasure. First up is Quentin Tarantino’s love letter to the Los Angeles of 1969, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt. Set in the fag end of the 1960s, the movie combines art and life to pay homage to the stars of yesteryears. Tarantino is of course a known provocateur and his penchant for showcasing extreme violence has drawn criticism down the years. His ‘misogynistic’ portrayal of Margot Robbie’s character, Sharon Tate, has raised the ire of many. But whatever your issues with the filmmaker you bet it will be a visual feast at the cinemas.

We are curious to see how Akshay Kumar holds up in Mission Mangal, based on India’s Mars orbiter mission, alongside an ensemble cast including our favourite Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen.

Malayalis who tune in faithfully to listen to their favourite RJ Nyla Usha can now watch her bold avatar in this weekend’s release Porinju Mariam Jose alongside the National Award honoree Joju George and Chemban Vinod.

What are you most looking forward to this week?
