Kuwait’s quality of telecommunications service is excellent. Domestically, new telephone exchanges provide a large capacity for new subscribers. Trunk traffic is carried by microwave radio relays, coaxial cables, and open-wire and fibreoptic cables. A 4G LTE mobile-cellular telephone system operates throughout Kuwait, and the country is well-supplied with pay telephones. Internet access is available via 4G LTE connections for fixed and mobile users.
Internationally, Kuwait is linked to international submarine cable Fibre-Optic Link Around the Globe (FLAG), and linked to the UAE, Bahrain and other nations via the Fibre-Optic Gulf (FOG) cable. There is also a coaxial cable and microwave radio relay to Saudi Arabia. Kuwait has six satellite earth stations: three Intelsat (including one in the Atlantic Ocean and two in the Indian Ocean), one Inmarsat, and two Arabsat (2018 analysis).
