What did you most enjoy when in Jakarta for the hotel piece? Jakarta stands out among Southeast Asian cities. Without a static list of mustdos, its rewards and highlights can be found at street level, and often in the most unexpected of places, particularly around Jalan Benda.
What have you discovered about your home-base while being largely confined to where we live? Edinburgh’s compact Old Town is often overrun with tourists, particularly at the height of summer. But to see its medieval wynds and alleys, tolbooths and Gothic towers free of crowds was an utter revelation.
