The Construction Week: Leaders in Construction Summit Kuwait 2018 reiterated its position as the country’s pioneering conference for the construction sector last week. Providing a platform for professionals that want to stay abreast of industry developments and gain insights into future trends, the second iteration of the conference was held at the Radisson Blu hotel in Kuwait City on 17 October.
Speakers at last week’s summit included Talal Al-Shammari, assistant secretary general at Kuwait’s Supreme Council for Planning and Development; Yang Chunsen, vice president of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East; Ahmad Jamal Jafar, vice chairman of Kuwait Bruckner Construction Contracting; and Nabil Kobrosly, vice president of business development at Parsons’ built environment division. These experts addressed an audience of more than 60 construction professionals at the summit.
On the agenda were topics such as the post-oil era and how it will impact construction; Kuwait’s renewed focus on infrastructure projects, such as roads, rail, and airports; and dispute and conflict resolution in the country’s construction sector.
