Indian construction firms eye Vision 2030 work
Officials from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Shapoorji Pallonji were among the representatives of Indian construction and real estate companies that visited Saudi Arabia on 26-27 November, 2018, to explore Neom contracts.
A spokesperson for India’s Trade Promotion Council of India told Construction Week that officials from NMS Housing, and Carnival Group, a multiplex cinema chain that this July, acquired a stake in Novo Cinemas, were also part of the delegation in Riyadh.
The trip was aimed at expanding India’s collaboration opportunities with Saudi Arabia on megaprojects such as Neom, Red Sea Tourism, and Qiddiya.
In addition to the Vision 2030-oriented schemes, the Indian companies were also expected to seek work as partners on railway and aviation projects in major Saudi cities, such as Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah.
